Finals over
Finals are over. Gr88 time. Now we have a demo in Las Vegas in January so I’ll spend the next couple of weeks working crazily. I already am, its 4 am and I just finished recompiling linux yet again.
So the end of a great first semester at MIT. I have had a great time learning and thinking. MIT is great in that it makes me think, keeps me excited, and people around me don’t stare at me when I utter something my mind just threw at me. Geeks, really, all of us. Its great to be in the company of people who are far smarter.
January is going to be hectic, and interesting. I’m planning to take classes in hi-tech entrepreneurship and Italian during IAP. Also trying to figure out what classes to take for spring. It’s definitely going to be more rigorous than the last sem.
My friends are planning a Europe trip, confused between Madrid, Athens and Egypt. I’ll probably just stay here, or go to Montreal. I’d ideally love to go to Brazil; I’m totally enamoured by the photo of a waterfall there that Steve sent me from his last visit. I’m also very curious about how South America is, its probably got more similarities with India than I know.
I saw American History X today; great movie. I’ve been making up for night-outs by rewarding myself with movies. Lost in translation was good(yesterday). The man with the golden gun was totally lame. Dirty dancing was tolerable; the last dance scene makes up for the time spent watching it.
Swimming pool is unusual, and ends mysteriously. It’s both commonplace and eclectic, a interesting combination. American beauty is a great movie. Some real depth out there. Great dialogue too.
I re-read Steve Jobs address to the graduating class at Stanford last year, that I had luckily attended. Definitely gives a zoomed out perspective on life. It’s one of the best talks I have ever been to.
Life’s too short.
